This adorable short oval vase was thrown on the wheel and then stretched to create the unique shape. It is a stoneware fired in a salt-kiln which creates the warm caramelized glaze and the toasty warmth you see.

Roger Yee has been fascinated with ceramics for most of his life. Currently, his work is focused on functional pots fired to 2385°F in reduction, and is inspired by Chinese, Japanese, and Korean pottery. Roger holds an MFA from San Jose State and has over 30 years experience as a ceramic artist. He was awarded an Artist in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center many years ago and continues to enjoy time at the coast.
