Product Details

Kathleen Alexander is a native of Northern California. She spent 12 years in Maui, Hawaii, represented by the Village Galleries in Lahaina. The gallery (and most of her original art) was tragically destroyed in the firestorm. In March 2022, she and her family returned to the Mendocino Coast, where she is focusing her attentions on new subject matter - a new series of abalone shell still life, as well as this original watercolor of a Brown Pelican.

After graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in biochemistry and working in that field for several years, Kathleen decided to focus on her passion for painting in watercolor. She studies with photorealist painter James Torlakson in the early 1990s, then began teaching watercolor workshops in 2006 and participated in fine art festivals from 2006 - 2016. Kathleen is a signature member of Watercolor West, the Northwest Watercolor Society, and the National Watercolor Society. Her watercolor paintings have been accepted into and won awards in juried exhibitions across the United States.
