Kristin Gordon, Alligator
As a lifelong naturalist and artist, the love of animals has been part of Kristin Coddington-Gordon’s life since childhood. Kristin’s inspiration is drawn from the earth’s natural beauty and the science that explains its existence. Combined with the joy she experiences in observing our world and the pleasure she takes as a ceramicist creating these animals, Kristin has found her purpose.
This Alligator (measuring 17"long x 9" wide x 4" tall) is part of the ANIMAL exhibit hosted at Lansing Street Gallery in June and July of 2024. The exhibit intends to inspire wonder in the diversity of species who share this planet with us. ANIMAL presents a selection of animals – from A to Z – sculpted from clay, fired in the raku kiln at the Mendocino Art Center, and displayed for your consideration. Kristin hopes that you will continue to have rich lives, and that in seeing ANIMAL you will also leave the exhibit with a keen sense of responsibility to steward our precious resources and the habitat for these remarkable species.
