Yari Ostovany - Verse XL - Oil on Canvas - 16x20 in - 2021
Inspired by the mystics and poets of both eastern and western traditions, Ostovany uses time and technique to build and erode layers until truth is revealed. Verse XL, a 16 x 20 oil painting on stretched canvas, is an attempt to capture the fleeting unity of poetry and transcendence.
Lansing Street Gallery is delighted to partner with Mendocino Sunrise Vacation Home to feature this work by Yari Ostovany. It is installed in the reading nook of the living room of this magnificent home.
Ostovany categorizes his work as Atmospheric Abstraction, navigating the terrain between Abstract Expressionism and Eastern Mystical traditions. The works featured in this show are original oil paintings influenced by Ostovany’s lifelong fascination with Sufi fables and Persian myths.
