Point Arena is about two miles west of the San Andreas fault, and it moves north-west every time an earthquake happens on the northern part of the fault. The previous Point Arena lighthouse fell down in the 1906 earthquake when the ground moved by about 15 feet. The current lighthouse was finished in 1909. I took the picture late on a spring day when the sky was full of puffy clouds and rain showers. - Jon Klein
