Suzanne Lewis is a fifth generation Texan who relocated to our charming seaside Village, Mendocino. She received her BFA in Studio Art from The University of Texas, Austin. After successful careers in graphic design, advertising art direction, commercial photography, bookselling, and the floral business, she reacquainted herself with painting, something she loved early in life. Plein air workshops sharpened her rendering and color skills, but after an Esalen workshop with Nicholas Wilton, it became apparent that her true calling was abstract art. Her current work involves colorful acrylics using abstract shapes, patterns and texture, collage, wax crayon and pencil. She is a member of the Art2Life Academy, a community of artists mentored by Nicholas Wilton. She has also studied with abstract artists Gordon Studer and Bibby Gignilliant.
